yesterday in west civ we watched three groups present their projects for the whole class. One group had focused their project around pottery and the different types of it. The next grow did their project on the circus maximus, they made a pan flit to give to the whole class it had lots of information including the names of real racers and set it up the way they would be back in ancient rome. The final group of the class for that day recreated a model pantheon and they explained how it was supported by the columns and how it has a open roof they also made a trifold board.

today in west civ we went to the clay room to work on our project we have yet to start filming but we have a script and the editing down we have all the props now we just need to record it and edit everything into one little movie. We are going to film at reece's house so we can use real swords

today in west civ we watched a video about rome and the government of rome. it was about an hour long. if we had more time in the class we would have a discussion I'm sure but there were some other dramatic things that happened thats all that happened.

today in west civ we learned a lot about the punic wars. there were three wars, one was a naval type battle that took place on the sea, the next was the war where the romans were invaded by the Carthaginians from the north with elephants, the last battle lasted only 4 years and it was when the romans invaded carthage to completely delete the threat from the south. they took over 50,000 child slaves and then rome and Italy was flooded with slaves later on

in west civ class we learned some more facts about rome like their branches of government and how the united states based their government off the roman government. We also learned that the romans will never ever want to have a monarch or a tyrant ever again and we learned about patricians and plebeians. we learned that pats were the ones with all the power and the plebs were mad about it.

today in wast civ we went to a 1920's speakeasy thing from the school instead if regular class where we could hear the stories of famous people from the 20's so this basically means nothing happened in class because we didn't have class we went to a speakeasy.

today in west civ we learned about the patins, greeks, and the romans all in one go. we learned about the big drain that the romans made to drain water from the swamp and drained the water into the tiber river. we learned that the patins are the decedents of the Indo europeans. we also learned about tarqin the proud who was a true tyrant and the seventh and final king in rome after his terrible actions.

Today in west civ we had fabs as a substitute because mr. schick was off in netherlands exploring castles and such so all we did was work on our 1000 word essay in our groups my portion of the essay is complete I'm not too sure about the others in my group.

MONDAY IN WEST CIV we got a presentation by mr.schick showing us how to right our 1000 word paper on our google slides topic. he told us that the slides were like an outline. he made a 500 word essay on how to write a 500 word paper and thats what he presented to us. other than that he told us the due date and that was all.

in west civ monday we had time to work on our projects and mr.schick said that that was the last day we had to work on that project. So if we did not finish you would have to talk with your group and finish it at home or at other places. My group finished the project pretty fast so i think we are good. 1. Parthenon
 
This building was built in 447 BC - 432 BC. This building was used as a fort and a church. This building was home to the Statue of Athena Parthenos, the statue was made from gold ivory and silver, but in the 5th century the statue was stolen and it was destroyed in Constantinople. The building was built in Athens.

2. Olympia, olympic games Stadium
This location is where the Olympic games come from. The Greeks made this stadium/ field to compete in challenges and sports. this is a very iconic landmark because At this location something originated which still happens to this day.

3. The Temple of Hephaestus
This Greek temple was built in 449 BC - 444 BC. This temple was built in Athens. In the seventh century it was converted to a church. this church is still in use today located in the north west part of the agora in Athens. The temple was originally built for Hephaestus god of metal work and volcanoes.

today in west civ we all had to create a pyramid on an online game thing the first 2 groups to be done got an (A) the 3rd and 4th groups to be don got a (B) my group got a B because me and reace figured it out. if you couldn't do it at all you got a zero and iff you finished after the first 4 groups you got a C
that is the only thing we really did the whole class.

the first video is about pyramids and how they were made what they represent and what is put in side them. they contain treasure and the body of a pharaoh. they protect the body and the treasure by using booby traps like false hallways. the treasure was put in the pyramid for the pharaoh to take with him to the afterlife


the second video is about mummification, how they did it and why they did it. they did it to preserve the body and prepare it for the afterlife. they would usually remove every thing from the body accept for the heart and bones.



the final video is about ancient egyptian life and society. the video includes facts about farming, social status, and general life and geography. He mentioned a few facts about the nile and he talked about the pharaohs and how they acted like gods and they were chosen by the gods.
